Lisa Su

Lisa Su has over fifteen years experience in teaching elementary school students. She is a very experienced teacher and administrator with extensive experience in creating materials and curriculum design.  She has taught math for Math Squared Learning Center, and she has taught Chinese, Math, and Science in a bay area Mandarin immersion school. She has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Nanya Institute of Technology in Taiwan which makes her science lessons unusually well-informed. She holds a Certificate of Achievement in Abacus from the Taiwan Province Business Association.

Kathy Small

Kathy Small has taught grades K-2 for over fifteen years in both public and private schools in the Bay Area. Recently retired from the San Jose Unified School District, she is still eager to continue teaching at the primary level. Kathy earned a B.S. from San Jose State University, as well as a California Multiple Subjects credential. She also earned a CLAD Certification from UC Santa Cruz which qualifies her to teach English to second-language learners. In her spare time, Kathy actively volunteers at the Women's Assistance League of San Jose.

Eileen Tong

Eileen Tong has been volunteering in marketing for Mandarin Academy since 2009. She has assisted in raising the profile for Mandarin Academy, building the school's community, helping create events, and assisting in promoting the awareness of Mandarin Academy's presence in the community. Eileen brings with her to the table a background in marketing and writing/editing. She is a full time mom.


QIFEI QI

Qifei Qi earned a master degree in Educational Administration  from San Francisco State University, San Francisco, California.







HAIYING WANG

Haiying Wang graduated from Shanghai Arts and Crafts College.  She is good at both oil painting and Chinese detail painting.







Yvonne Liu

Yvonne Liu holds a Flute Performance Degree from Conservatoire National de Région de Toulouse, Paris, France (2000). She has performed with numerous ensembles and Symphony Orchestras, including Paris Royal Ensemble and the De Anza Symphony. Yvonne has many years of teaching experience and has taught flute and piano at the YAMAHA Institute in Taiwan as well as with an established studio in California. Yvonne particularly enjoys working with children and is creative in keeping their attention and explaining musical concepts. Her focus is primarily on Classical music, with emphasis on music history, appreciation, theory, and developing individualized performance attributes. She also brings particularly innovative techniques to all level of her music teaching.

K-5

Mandarin Academy exceed California state requirements for English, Math, Social Sciences, Science, Music, and Fine Arts. Our most curriculum follows guidelines provided by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education.
